4 homemade solutions to combat gingivitis

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sea salt (15 g)
  • ½ cup of warm water (125 ml)

Preparation and application

  • Add the sea salt in half a cup of water and stir until the mixture is homogeneous.
  • Once ready,  swish in your mouth for two minutes and spit. Do the same procedure until you have finished with the solution and repeat two or three times a day.

2. Baking soda

Sodium bicarbonate is a potent substance that helps neutralize the acids found in the mouth. In fact, it is one of the simplest homemade solutions to combat gingivitis. You can buy a paste of baking soda and replace it with the toothpaste you use regularly. Also, you can prepare the mixture that we share next.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda (4 g)
  • 3 drops of olive oil

Preparation and application

  • In a bowl mix the baking soda with the olive oil to create a homogeneous paste.
  • When the pasta is ready, apply it on a toothbrush and gently massage the gums. Subsequently, let the mixture act for two minutes and rinse with warm water.

Note: Sodium bicarbonate can be very aggressive with teeth. For this reason, it is recommended to use it together with olive oil and from time to time. You can use it two or three times a week.

3. Coconut oil

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of organic coconut oil (30 g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda (4 g)

Preparation and application

  • In a bowl mix the coconut oil with the bicarbonate to create a thick paste.
  • Place the coconut paste and baking soda on your toothbrush and gently massage your gums. This will serve to apply the remedy in the affected areas.
  • After brushing for at least 5 minutes, discard the waste and place it on a piece of paper. Rinse with warm water. Do not throw the rest to the drain as the oil solidifies and could clog the facilities.

4. Propolis
